Completely stuck trying to view log files

I’ve set up my plane on autotune and had my first autonomous flight.

I want to see the flight overlaid on Google Earth but cannot do it. Every time I go to Terminal in Mission Planner and click Connect I get endless pages of random text.

Am I doing something obviously wrong? Is there a simple set of instructions somewhere how to do this?

You dont need to use the terminal to download the logs. Go to mission planner main screen > dataflash > download dataflash.

Thanks, but I have another problem.
There are no log files there despite having done 3 autonomous flights on Auto.
There are 3 files dated 1970 which time out and don’t download.
Any ideas?
