Communication between two copters over telemetry modules

Hello,

I want to set up a communication between two quadcopters, where they can exchange their position, air speed or so…
Is this possible with the telemetry devices? Are they bidirectional?

it is too complicated this way…
easier is it to attach wires on the uart2 pins(apm2.6), such as ground vcc rx tx…
and then attach a XBee or similar…

like this you can communicate over uartC…
