Circle mode altitude loosing problem!

i armed in loiter mode and switched to circle mode the drone suddenly looses it altitude while trying to circle sometimes it circles as i manage to give a little sudden throttle and control its altitude. My question is how to fix this problem i have also fixed a downward facing lidar tfmini and configured it in copter. Does circle mode uses rangefinder ?

@rmackay9 please could you help, is there a way to use range finder tfmini as a primary source for altitude, if circle mode doesnt use range finder like loiter and altmode uses

Hi @ali_khan,

Thanks for the report. If it possible that you could include a onboard log file (aka.bin)? It’s very difficult to investigate without a log.

Copter’s circle mode does support surface tracking just like Loiter.
