Change flight mode when using roscopter

Hi All,
Currently I am using roscopter ROS node(link) to send RC override control to APM. However, it turns out that I can not change flight mode by using my RC transmitter when the APM is connected with roscopter node.

Is there any way to configure the APM to let RC transmitter take over the control by just simply switching the switches on RC transmitter?

don’t override channel 5 and you will be able to change the mode. Use MAVLink to set the modes you want from ROS, not a PWM value.
