I have a RPLidar S1. I tried to do as shown in the documantation common-rplidar-a2.html. There isn’t 2 parameters in the Mission Planner and i tried another versions (PRX1_TYPE and PRX1_ORIENT). I entered the rest of the parameters correctly. I tried SERIAL1_BAUD values (155,256,111 etc.) but nothing change. I tried plugging in external 5v (BEC), tried changing tx, rx cables but lidar is not working. I don’t see any change in Mission Planner as lidar is not spin. Mission planner messages section related to lidar no messages appear. I still don’t understand what the problem is. I would be glad if you help.
RPLidar A2 is supported.
RPLidar S1 is not (yet) supported.
It should be easy for you to extend the A2 device driver to the S1 and do a github.com pull request

Looks like it does. And if it does not it is simple to add a new model
