Cannot update QioTek Zealot H743 to ArduPlane 4.2.3 using standard options - Mac OSX issue?

Absolutely! I’m really going to follow this one.

Breaking news - this might be a Mac issue. Luckily I don’t have a Windows machine (except Parallels) to test it with, but @JasonSiu from QioTek tells me he has tried it and it works fine.

Another Update - I just tried this on a Durandal - same problem. Interestingly, the Durandal pops up two different board types in the update (see the pic). If I pick the second one (even though it looks identical) I can flash the board.

The Zealot doesn’t have this second option!?

It seems to be flashing Durandal-bdshot - what does that mean? (and do I care?)

Bidirectional DSHOT support. It’s an optional feature that saves a bit of memory to exclude if your motors aren’t compatible.

The Durandal has gobs of memory. It doesn’t bother me.

Bidirectional DShot is related to the ESC, not the motor. It reports the motor RPM back on the signal wire after every DShot command, making for very accurate RPM info that can be fed into the dynamic harmonic notch filter.
