Cannot Open Serial Ports

I have connected my pixhawk directly to my computer through a USB cable and I am able to connect to my pixhawk. I am able to change most of the settings in the setup tab (I haven’t tried all) but every time I try to open up the serial port tab, it doesn’t work (image above). It loads for a bit with a popup saying “trying to download uart.txt from FC” (another image) and then just fails

(I don’t know if this is relevant but I plugged my sd card into my computer and I couldn’t find a uarts.txt file)

Are you running custom firmware? I have seen that error when mavftp fails or it runs out of memory when trying to use lua.

I am running window 10 but my memory is like almost full, maybe that’s the problem?

Ok so i realised the green bar actually becomes full as if it has loaded the thing, but then it shows nothing

I mean on the flight controller, if too much is running it can run out of memory and some functions stop working

Sorry for my mis-interpretation on the subject:). Regarding the flight controller, it’s a brand new pixhawk but a sd card from an old pix hawk ( both pixhawk 2.4.8)

What firmware version is installed (fmuv2,fmuv3, Pixhawk1)? On the messages screen in Mission Planner.

I’m sorry for my very beginner question but where do I check that

Here, after connecting.

Sorry for the late reply, here is the message page after connecting

You have the right firmware target but a very old version. Update to latest stable version which today is V4.5.6

Thanks for the reply, I’ll update the latest version on my FC

Do i pick Pixhawk 1 or FMUV3, Sorry for this very beginner question

Start with fmuv3. Do you want Rover? It had Copter on it.

Oh ok thanks! I’ll start with the fmuv3. I chose the rover because it’s also a boat right?

Yes, just being sure.

It unfortunately didn’t work

i tried both fmu3 and pixhawk-1 with the same result, maybe my sd card is out of memory?

edit: I removed all my logs off my sd card and it still doesn’t work

Firmware isn’t stored on the Sd card. Try the Pixhawk1-1M version.
Which actual 2.4.8 Are these? It doesn’t make much sense if they are new units that fmuv3 or pixhawk1 doesn’t fit as that’s what was on there. Unless they are Radiolink units in which case throw them in the trash.

One thing for sure, they are not radiolink pixhawks

Thanks so much for your help!!!, it finally worked. Sorry for the late reply, I wasn’t free yet but than you so much!
