We will would like to purchase two low-cost drones to investigate if their camera gimbals could be made to work with ArduPilot. The two drones are:

One would be purchased by Randy, the other by Tridge

Hi @geofrancis,

No I’m afraid not. I reached out to Fimi but so far no response. This unfortunately means that discovering the protocol will require some snooping of the messages sent from the FC to the gimbal.

By the way, it seems the gimbal can be purchased separate as well https://aliexpress.com/item/1005007605132426.html

Yes, thanks for noticing that. I’ve modified the link to be the Faith Mini 2 and added $50 to the request to cover the difference

I’ve decided I’m not going to pursue trying to get AP onto one of these two drones. Instead I’m looking at an open design for a small copter based on parts from AP Partners (where possible). It won’t be quite as small and cheap but it will gain support from the various manufacturers I’m sure.
