Can not update ArduRover firmware from V4.4.0 to V4.5.0

The install firmware prompt mentioned in the instructions we got during previous updates, does not appear anymore. The disconnected MP almost immediately starts looking for a heartbeat and comports. When I connect the Pixhawk the ‘New Firmware-Rover 4.5.0 Pls upgrade’ message appears again.

Are the instructions on https://ardupilot.org/planner/docs/common-loading-firmware-onto-pixhawk.html not up-to-date?

I also tried the ’ Custom Firmware Build Server’ method. Same result.

Mission Planner 1.3.81
Pixhawk 2.4.8
Platform fmuv3

You can try a few things:

  • QGC.
  • Pixhawk reset button.
  • Disconnect all cables from the Pixhawk, to minimize consumption.
  • A different PC.

BTW, for Pixhawk perhaps Pixhawk1 firmware is more appropiate (or see hwdef.dat’s).

Thanks for the advice!
Disconnecting all cables did not help.
However, updating the firmware with QGroundControl (ArduPilot) was very easy.
