I’ve searched for an answer to this one but I have not found one.
If i fly forward in PosHold mode in a strong side wind, my drone drifts sideways since PosHold only use AltHold when flying in any direction.
How about Loiter? Can it compensate for side winds so I get a (more or less) straight flight path when flying forwards?
From my experience of it, Loiter will correct itself against the wind. Loiter uses a GPS location and the barometer to fix altitude and location. The quad will manoeuvre to keep itself at the GPS coordinates, even if there’s wind.
That sounds great!
I guess that it should be the same challenge as using a mission with spline waypoints since it cannot just go straight to the next waypoint, it has to keep the drone on the curved path.
