Can anyone use Ardupilot Firmware and hardware for commercial drone manufacturing and selling?

Hello everyone!
I am just curious if anyone can use ardupilot’s firmware and hardware for the commercial drone manufacturing for profit. Is it legal to modify the code and hardware and use same for company’s personal profit without making it public.
And if someone is planning to use it in this way should he go with ardupilot or PX4?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank You

We don’t do hardware but the ruled of license are the same.
For ArduPilot license, you aren’t requested to make your modifications public, but you should explicitly notify your client that he could have access to the modified code on demand.

You could find some useful information on license requirements on

https://ardupilot.org/dev/docs/license-gplv3.html says everything you need to know. There’s absolutely no requirement to make your code/changes public, just available to your users/customers on request, under the GPLv3 license

If you distribute ArduPilot firmware binaries to customers you must also
license the source code to them under the GPLv3 and in other ways adhere
to that license.

Hardware varies based on vendor - we have lots of great partner companies
producing hardware and their approach to licensing of that hardware
varies.

Not for the firmware. Varies on the hardware.

You’re probably in the wrong place for an unbiased viewpoint
