I’ve plotted the builtin function mentioned in the title, which should give the distance from home I suppose.
What’s the unit, 10^7 meters ?

The function calculates a 2D vector length based on relative position north and east and appears correct.
The scale goes from 0 to 16,000,000m.
You’d have to share the log file for root cause analysis.
So the max distance in the plot is 14.000 km ?
That’s 1/3 of the world.
According to google maps the max distance during the flight was about 450 m.
You may have encountered a bug. Occasionally the log reviewer in Mission Planner gets a little wonky. Clearing all chart data usually fixes it. Worst case, close and reopen the log.

I have tried 10 different log files, cleared the graph, reopened the log file.
Even restarting MP wont fix it.
