Boat /cmd_vel Mathematical models

Hello, I am currently working on creating a custom RC robot using 3D printing. I have tested the boat’s movements using Rover firmware 4.5 on Mission Planner, connected with Cube Pilot Orange. Additionally, I have integrated it with ROS1 Noetic via MAVLink.

Could you let me know if there is a mathematical expression that explains how “/cmd_vel” is generated? Where can I find such mathematical models or information?
