Best Rx for sailboat telemetry

Hi, I am new to Ardupilot but have experience with drones and BF. I’m developing the electronics for an autonomous sailboat. So far I have built a windvane with the AS5600 chip and I have it sending wind direction data to MP over USB. The hardware I am using is a Matek H743 Slim V3 FC and currently a TBS CRSF nano Rx and a Radiomaster TX16S with external CRSF module.

I would like to see the wind direction data on the telemetry screen of my TX16S, but I’m getting really confused figuring out how to do this. I can detect and display what I believe is “native” telemetry data such as GPS but not the wind direction data. The Tx does not detect the wind sensor. It looks like I might get it to work with a Yaapu lua script, but some of what I read suggests it would be easier if I used FrSky. I can certainly get an FrSky Rx if that would be easier to set this up (the Tx has numerous protocols on the internal module). Can someone advise how best to approach this, specifically, what Rx would you recommend and (if possible) what are the steps to get it working? A link to a page that lays it all out would be fine. Thanks for any help you can provide! BTW I am running EdgeTx on the TX16S.

OK, let me ask this a different way: is it possible to get non-standard data over a CRSF or other control connection with telemetry capabilities? I can probably figure out how to write a lua script if necessary to display it, but I can’t tell from the docs if these data even are transmitted from the Rx to the Tx.

You would need to send it using the crsf passthrough protocol and use a custom lua script on the radio to display it .
