Armed but motor won`t spool up

Hi,

Can anyone help me please.

I have zero experience with ArduPilot but many years experience of building and flying many types of models.

Ive been following the ArduCopter Heli videos on Painless360s channel and I have exactly the same setup OMP M4, OMP 65A ESC set to governor mode and the PixHawk 6C mini flight controller unit.

I have got it to Arm successfully after a few hours, troubleshooting various issues. Arming sequence is 1. Press the button on the GPS unit, 2. toggle the inhibit switch and finally 3. The arm switch.

MP says “armed” and I get a long beep, then after a few seconds I get a short beep and MP says “disarmed” the motor does nothing.

I have calibrated the ESC in MP.

I have connected the ESC to a servo tester and verified that it does run when fed with the correct PWM signal, I believe my channel 5 output on the Pixhawk that is set a HeliRSC never leaves 1100 RPM.

Should I perhaps reset everything to factory and start again?

Attached is my param file, if anyone requires anything else in order to help me I will be only too happy to provide it.

Thank you.

Just posting an update to this, the problem was all of my own making. I wasn’t sequencing the arming correctly.

  1. Press and hold the button on the GPS unit until it beeps.
  2. Switch on (High PWM value) the arming switch
  3. Switch on (High PWM value) the interlock switch

All this was outlined by Painless360 in his video but its the simple things that seem to get me and I’ve never come across this process before.
