Arduplane compass calibration

Hello, is it nessesary to do the compass calibration for the ArduPlane? I find many youtube videos about the compass calibration for multicopters but couldn’t find one for the ArduPlane.

Yes, you must do compass calibration for ArduPlane in the same way as for ArduCopter, there is a compass learn function which means the board will learn the compass offsets but it can produce occasional high values. Best to do the compass dance and repeat if you get many bad compass health warnings.

I’ve seen some big aircraft using APM - is “live” the onyl option for something too big to rotate?

Any tips for getting the best live tuning results - type of path, etc?
