Dear All,
I have seen the comments about not to buy and use the above, but my 14 yo son already has it, so I am a bit late here.

He (and I) are struggling to configure it for use in an electric simple boat. I assume it was once configurable can someone therefore advise me what version of Firmware to install and what GCS / config software you are using.

We tried mission planner, but although we can flash the Firmware and get a number of parts working, we are not able to set up the servos - they are greyed out.

Like explained, many, many times: for a 14 years old firmware you need to use a 14 years old MissionPlanner version.

this should get you connected but you will need to install a different firmware for rover. I think the latest was v2.9 for rover

Think Rover jumped from 2.5 (APM supported) to 3.0 (not). But, if you dig up an old version of Mission Planner it should install the last version anyway.

I knew it never got as far as version 3.0. just looked, 2.5.1 is as far as rover got on the APM.
