Aircraft crashed during auto tune

We were trying do auto tune for a new aircraft. Q_Assist was enabled in order to save the aircraft from rolling or pitching too much during the tuning. We were also flying in a controlled airspace with clearance from the air traffic controller in the area.
Roll tuning was completed so we went ahead to do pitch tuning after. During pitch tuning, the aircraft nosedived and the Q_Assist triggered saving the aircraft however it still dropped from 200m Altitude to 120m altitude before it was able to recover. Very shortly after the first recovery, it nose dived again for a second time and dropping down from 120m altitude until it crashed to the ground and with the multirotor motors still trying to recover. The aircraft was a tandem wing design with a smaller front wing compared to the rear wing. We did not see any error on the GCS during flight. Can someone help to analyze what happened during this flight? Thanks
