Ailerons with separated channels have no separate trim/endpoints

Hi all,

I have a problem concerning ailerons, for which I hope to receive some advice in order to solve it.

First, gear used:
Matek F405 wing f.c.
MiniTalon
Futaba TG14SG Sbus with S-FHHS receiver.

Servo Output set in Mission Planner:
SERVO1 THROTTLE
SERVO3 AILERON
SERVO4 AILERON
SERVO5 VTAIL LEFT
SERVO6 VTAIL RIGHT

Servo connection on Matek F405 wing
S1 throttle
S3 aileron
S4 aileron
S5 left tail
S6 right tail

Flight Modes associated to a 3 way switch:
Maual
FBWA
Loiter

The problem:
there is no way to regulate ailerons in differential way although they are associated to different channels , nor to use different endpoint/trim (on the radio). Only one channel works for both ailerons, as they were connected to the f.c. by a Y cable.

As a check I connected the servos directly to the receiver, by-passing the Matek board, without modifying the settings on the radio, all endpoints, trims and differentials could be set without any problem.

I checked many times the configuration on Mission Planner, in order to verify I missed something, but everything seems ok.

I wonder if I’m searching for something that is not applicable to all the stuff above, but I didn’t know it.

Anyway thanks forward for any advice that could help

Corrado

Open Missionplanner
-> Go to “Config”
-> full parameter list
search for the parameters SERVO3_* and SERVO4_*

More details can be found here.

Here you can change for each servo:
min, max, center and direction.

Hope this helps.

SERVO3 AILERON
SERVO4 AILERON

This is the clue right here. You’ve got two servo outputs - you don’t
have two RC inputs (the RCMAP only allows you to have one).

You should have full control of each aileron’s trim and travel with
SERVO3_MIN, SERVO3_MAX, SERVO3_TRIM, SERVO4_MIN, SERVO4_MAX and
SERVO_TRIM.

I run the same sort of setup (but with additional separate chanels for
flaps left/right on my QiotekF427-based Ranger2400 without issue that I’ve
found so far.

Sascha, Peter,

thank you for the advices, they work as needed.

I made the big mistake to believe that I could modify endpoints from radio and the test made bypassing the board erroneously reinforced this idea.
Moreover I missed the logic of RCMAP.

Thank you again

Corrado .
