8+2 VTOL configurations

Hi All,

We are building a small winged VTOL (3D printed) and got the idea to fly it with 8+2 configurations.
“8 hover motors and 2 forward motors”
So far we are struggling with both Ardupilot setup and sure how to connect it to PX4.
Anyone have taken any similar challenge to advice how to adapt Ardupilot to this configurations ?
