Tried updating bootloader, Pixhawk now detected as LegacyFMU and won't connect

Yes, MP has an issue uploading firmwares to Pixhawks with the older bootloader. Once you get the new firmware on there, if you upgrade the bootloader then MP will work again. I’ve reported this issue to @meee1 as well.

@rmackay9 Thanks for the confirmation and reporting it.

I wonder if I could get some advice on this. I have a PixHACK from around 2015:

9/29/2020 5:29:29 PM : Frame: QUAD
9/29/2020 5:29:29 PM : RCOut: PWM:1-12
9/29/2020 5:29:29 PM : fmuv2 00290028 3034510A 30363239
9/29/2020 5:29:29 PM : ChibiOS: d4fce84e
9/29/2020 5:29:29 PM : ArduCopter V4.0.4 (40502bd9)

Is it safe to use this procedure with this device?

Thanks very much.

I went ahead and updated the bootloader:

Found device: ArduPilot ChibiOS
Connected to bootloader:
Version: 5
Board ID: 9
Flash size: 1032192

Does this flash size on the PixHack limit my options? I wanted to install QuadCopter 4.1

thanks

I got a solution here:
