Same as appendix it once was very useful now it can do some good under very specific circumstances.

For boards without IO, FMU needs more pins (special model MUC model). There are no more disadvantages, at least CUAV x7 has done a successful demonstration.

More manufacturers continued the old design of pixhawk, CUAV X7 removed IO, successfully verified that IO is not necessary (no IO board, almost Servos supports Dshot)
