Motor shutdown after failsafe for no (?) reason

yes, inputs are logged by default but you need to enable logging of individual discovered sensors (edit each single one) and define a special function to trigger log start

you get a csv file like this one that you can replay with companion

Does this really log the channels or just sensors? Because I’d just to want to track my arm switch (CH6).

It says here that this workaround is also required.

it logs the sensors and the inputs, not the channels, for those you need a hack like the one you pointed out

you could monitor the switch you assigned to CH6

Ah I see, thanks!

Since I’m always short of switches, would it be ok to set the condition for the logical switch to activate logging to ON? If I remember correctly, this means “always active”.

That would work, or you can use the “ARM” sensor

Here are 2 logs containing radio failsafes. The first one has the quad sitting on the bench, the second time I moved it around a bit to emulate more of a “still flying” condition. The transmitter was meanwhile moved out of range by someone else. Quad was armed in STABILIZE with throttle above minimum.

Motors did shut down in both cases - but maybe just because no real flying was detected? I’m really curious to hear what you can tell from this.

In any case, there was no disarm by CH6, so it’s getting more likely I did in fact flip the switch I guess…

OT: I’m having some trouble getting all dirt out of the 2814 motors. Even after a few tries, motor D still doesn’t sound like the rest, and A isn’t perfect either.

It looks sane to me - the RCIN values do not move on the FS which I would expect and the FS is detected, both things you want.

Ok, thanks. Well, in that case it must be me who is not sane and flipped the switch.
