Micro Mini OSD setup

Can anyone confirm that this OSD works with 4.0 and cube black? I have it connected for the to serial 2 and set it to Mavlink 1. I get video output where it shows the battery as 0v, on time, and a “No Data” message flashing. Do I need the FTDI adaptor to get it to configure properly? Any advice is much appreciated.

I followed the wiki page for connection https://ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common-minim-osd-quick-installation-guide.html

This is the exact model of OSD I’m using https://www.readymaderc.com/products/details/rmrc-micro-minim-osd

which osd firmware using?

I’m not sure. I guess whatever came on it? My FTDI programmer should arrive tomorrow, so I’ll be able to change it. Do you recommend a particular firmware?

You need to first config the unit…so Metric versus imperial, Pal versus NTSC.
Tweak your video overlay.
Set your call sign and what what ever tweaks you need to the OSD.
Then you need to get it connected to the flight controller.
You should use Mission planner to tell the flight controller your using an OSD…just to make sure the config on the flight controller is correct.
Make sure the OSD is well grounded.
There are a number of config settings that should be checked if not working…I would need to find them again.

You can find firm and info here https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2591835-New-MinimOSD-fork

Check this post, download the latest Nightghost and a suitable font:

And find the DEVOPTIONS parameter and set to value 2 (going from memory) to show altitude above origin instead of altitude above mean sea level.
