Motor test is the only valid test right now unless you can use manual mode to further confirm operation (which requires RC control).

Experimenting with other modes on the bench is a waste of time and only likely to give you false results.

When it is in Auto mode the motors do start up but as you say that is a waste of time.
Would it help if I can get the telemetry radios to connect?

We’re a little too deep in the budget realm there. That receiver won’t work, as it’s pure 6 Ch PWM out. And the radio has no switches (4 channel only).

At this point, it won’t solve any of your existing problems, but you’ll want that to work eventually. Make sure your wiring is TX → RX and RX → TX.

I will see who has one of the first ones in stock. Is there anything else I can check to see why the motors are not running?

I have tested the wiring and that is fine, the parameters are all set as per your instruction with just the GPIO numbers being different

Set LOG_DISARMED,1 and reboot.

Run the following in order:
Test Motor A
Test Motor B
Test Motor C
Test Motor D
Test All Motors

Shut down and share the most recent (highest numbered) log from the SD card APM/LOGS directory.

Then you can reset to LOG_DISARMED,0

What do I need to do to set it up so long?

I should have it in hand around 10 am tomorrow morning the shop is not that far from me

The autopilot arms with no messages and I arm it in Manual mode
When I try and test the motors it disarms by the looks of it.
Why may I ask does the motors run when it is armed in Auto mode?

Run the motor test from a disarmed state.

Testing auto mode on the bench is useless.

Not testing in Auto mode, I armed it to test but did not see it was in Auto mode, was very surprised when the motors started up

Tried is disarmed state, no luck

When you run the motor test, what is displayed in the messages screen?

Throttle armed and the throttle disarmed
The blue led on the autopilot also flashes

Increase throttle to 20% during motor test.
