Yaw input different

I am having an issue with my yaw control. i setup and calibrated my radio with only the pitch reversed as documented in wiki. my yaw stick controls the tail servo in the proper direction but when doing my stabilized mode tests my yaw is working in the wrong direction. if I reverse the servo in the servo tab of mission planner then my transmitter is operating backwards. do I simply reverse at the transmitter or is there something else to change?
