Hi there, I am building my first rover and I am unsure where to place my external compass. Is it better to place it near the CoG but close to the batteries on the main body or on a higher platform close to my gps away from electromagnetic fields but with alot of movements during a mission? Thanks in advance for your insights!

Put your compass far away from power wires.
I don’t think the distance between CoG and compass affects the performance.
Orientation, of course, is important.
Mustafa thank you for your advice. Just one note, I am not afraid from the fact beeing too far away from the CoG but every movement from rough ground let move my platform alot which may irritate the compass. Do you think this will not be a problem?
