What was the crash cause?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help diagnosing a crash on my ArduPilot fixed-wing aircraft. I reviewed the BIN log and found some possible clues, but I’d appreciate input from more experienced users.

I would really appreciate help reviewing the log and identifying the root cause or setup problems I should check.

Thanks!

Ailerons are struggling to keep up. The roll oscillation is wild and basically there is no roll control.

Let’s assume for a moment the airspeed data is reasonably correct and that the difference between airspeed and GPS is mostly wind related.

The following were set:

AIRSPEED_CRUISE 26.000000 # Default 12.000000
AIRSPEED_MAX 30.000000 # Default 22.000000
AIRSPEED_MIN 22.000000 # Default 9.000000

That plane is significantly slower than what it was configured for. The throttle is running full out the entire time. The elevators reach saturation (full deflection) trying to get the plane to climb.

The plane is likely overweight or under powered. Center of gravity may not be correct. The plane’s firmware configuration does not match the physical abilities of the plane.
High bank angles, and slow airspeed, it was probably on the edge of stall the entire time
