Okay so what is a use case for this? I would assume that they divide the current value by 4 to give an approximate current per each motor?
You could run a precise current sensor and have it logged along other motor parameter instead of having to parse 2 messages. BDShot current reporting resolution is ridiculously low for small builds. My 250g heli draws less than 8A total on a discharged battery, 6A at reasonable battery voltage. If I want to reason about efficiency I need at very least 20-30 times better resolution. Not to mention tail motor which draws less than an Amp.
