Hi all, I like to show off a realflight physics test based on my tilt motor quad. Any questions please let me know.
I am using Qloiter, FBWA and Manual flight mode in the simulation. Having good results with waypoints. last night printing the VTOL at 50% before the full-size print. Lot of energy has been directed to tuning, I decided to use VTOLQuicktune.lun to smooth out the flight.
Print 50% reduction.
I use S3D as the slicer. I good print will be water-tight this is done with Sub divided surfaces.
Making some head way on the new VTOL. I printed webs that hold the Carbon fiber 16 mm tube that run the length inside the wing. Full size shown.
Servo inserts make setting up a breeze I think.
Right now the biggest cost is the Carbon fiber tubbing ,sans hardware.
Your designs make me want to buy a bigger printer. ![]()
I second @Allister’s comment!
I was lucky to buy 3 cr-max printers a few years ago with a 450x450x470 MM. I recently upgraded the build plate. I recommend this printer!
Also Bambu A1 a few months ago and it does the small stuff perfect combination.
I’ve got an Ender 3 S1. It’s been perfect for me. Might have to keep my eyes open for something with a larger volume for these projects though.
