Hi, I just finished my VTOL setup and I’m doing the firsts fly tests. My VTOL is a tilt tricopter with vectoring yaw. My question is the following : I would like to takeoff in FWBA mode without any VTOL assistance and I also want VTOL assistance under a certain speed limit. My problem is that if I enable Q_ASSIST_SPEED, then I cannot takeoff in FBWA without VTOL assistance and if I disable Q_ASSIST_SPEED then I can takeoff in FBWA without VTOL assistance but I also loose VTOL assistance for the reste of the flight. I prefer to takeoff in FBWA because it is less battery impacting and I just want VTOL assistance during flight and of course VTOL landing. Instead of having only one limit in Q_ASSIST options, it could be usefull to be able to set a range (upper and lower limit) where the assistance act. I also see an RC option that is QASSIST 3POS but I did not find how it works and why 3pos is required. This could also reply to my problem but I need more informations on it. I also know I can takeoff in takeoff mode which wont use VTOL assistance but for my use case I prefer takeoff in FBWA for more control.
Thanks for any help.
This might help: Q_OPTIONS bit 1 Allow FW Takeoff

Thanks for your reply. I was not sure about this option. I will test it asap.
Well I finally found some time to test it but it did not act as I expected. Again ,when in FBWA mode, if I try to increase throttle to do a manual takeoff, the plane rotate the front motors up and act as if it is trying to assist FBWA due to lack of speed. So exactely as before I set Q_OPTIONS bit. I suspect that this option is only for mission. I also discovered that when I change mode to TAKEOFF, the two font motors intantaneously jump to 100% throttle despite I have set the TKOFF_ACCEL_CNT to 1 and TKOFF_THR_MINACC to 12. By chance I had no props when I did that test…if props where present this could have been very harmfull
