Been a few years, but looking to get back into the hobby. I have a Volantex ranger 2000 with all the upgraded hardware and flight controller ready to build. I would like to turn this into a VTOL.
Any suggestions on the quad motor/esc and mounting etc. Guides would be welcome, rather follow something that has worked than reinvent the wheel if possible.

You can read through this as a guide. I built one years ago but I went for an H frame rather than the X hoping to minimize the wing twisting during transition. The Ranger 2000 has 2 wing spars, though short, may help. I used PX4 Autopilot stack not ArduPilot, though. Hope this gives you a starting point.

Thanks, I have actually seen that thread and that video, my research has led me back to this forum after seeing all the conent out there. I was hoping to mimic this setup but the guy never responded to any comments on his videos. Seems like a clean setup.
I’m really hoping not to re-invent something that has already been proven and works. I get this hobby is all about testing and experimenting but would really like to follow a no kidding guide where i can build from the baseline rather than creating a baseline.
