Hello everyone,
I have few of the old 3DR PX4, I have installed them in my Electric 8S 800 size heli.
and the other 3DR PX4 installed in my Gasser new build Heli,
I am facing problems regard the vibration effected those units and the telemetry CSFR not working with these units.
I heard from some people that there is new FC units with better dumping.
any suggestion which one to buy? I don’t want to spend $700+ its
some forms I read that pixhawk fmuv6c is better choice for the money and the anti-vibration.
In my OMP M4 builds I have been using the Pixhawk 6c Mini. Great form factor and I haven’t had vibration issues. (Mind you, the two I’ve flown so far have been pretty smooth)
In the Vario gasser I have a Cube Orange, but I haven’t sorted out all the vibration issues there so that one is on going.
The mini has a few less serial ports (only 4 vs 7) but unless you’re getting into a lot of sensors there’s enough for most cases.
I think with a gasser it’s just as much about mounting of the FC and engine, as it is about the FC itself. The Cube or the 6X may be more robust with 3 IMUs vs 2 and better processors for better filtering, but if the mounting is bad or there are mechanical issues then I don’t think it will matter what controller you use.
The link I posted has a comparison between the 6C and the mini. As far as I see the IMU related specs are the same. It’s only external ports that are different to accommodate the smaller form factor.
Here’s the 6c Mini in one of the M4s. I’ve been using the smaller GPS modules. This particular one ended up with an M8N (not sure what I was thinking… but it works for purpose so I’m not complaining). The other unit has the M10. Small and light enough that C of G wasn’t an issue on a small frame.
I am also looking for smaller GPS to replace the massive size here2
If you look into the pic, I place it in the cockpit and this will interfere with the seats and other details, plus; I can’t reach the batteries underneath that GPS!
Also my orange Heli was made by me. And this is the one I ordered the Px 6c mini for
Thank you
Ozzy
And here is a link of one of the auto missions back 2019 using the Px4 (old) 1m FC
But it’s flying great
Now I am upgrading to 8s lipo 9500 mah
Also installing 6c mini Pix FC
And putting longer Semi-asymmetrical 800mm blades instead of the 760mm
Those upgrades will make it more efficient.
The other AS350 its an old Rohan fuselage but changed it to the way it’s look now, cutting, removing, adding, modifying so many stuff; project stated 2017 and still.
It’s weight ~19lb and it’s Pixhawk 2.1 cube arducopter 4.5.7
Still at the auto tune stage.
But the mechanics been flying back 2019 with the old arducopter version.
