Upgrade firmware in a safe way

The drone is fully configured and was flying ok. The power was delivered through the USB cable to the FC. The batteries were not connected. The GPS unit is connected via the GPS port of the FC.

Connecting the exact same way when on 4.4.4. didn’t show these errors/warnings, only on 4.6.2

I wonder what changed that would cause this?

Will this post help you?

Thank you for the suggestion. It took me down the path of upgrading the drotek GPS firmware.

Upgrading the GPS firmware to the latest resolves the issue of 'GPS1 unable to configure band 0x10310020'

The upgrade to 4.6.2 was successful from 4.4.4 with no reported issues.

I ran the methodic_configurator as well. All seems ok except for a couple of warning for the ATC_RAT_YAW_P and ATC_RAT_YAW_FLTE for having too high values. This has nothing to do with the FC firmware upgrade, these are the values it copied along from my params in 4.4.4.

Adding a couple screenshots of the methodic_configurator for completeness.

Thank you all for the help.

If you are happy with the results, leave them as they are.

If you want the extra bit of performance, execute the steps from 04 to 23, including reading the instructions, performing the test flights and uploading the changed parameters.

Steps 23 to 53 are optional, you can stop at any point once you pass step 23. The more of them you do, the better the tune.
