Unsolved takeoff anomaly

BIN
BIN2
provide the BIN file to investigate possible causes of the abnormal crash of the QPlane quadcopter after takeoff.

Both takeoffs were manual, and the drones crashed just seconds after liftoff due to loss of control. The remote controller became unresponsive during the crashes.

The Skywalker X8 quadcopter VTOL drone, after vertical takeoff, experienced attitude turbulence in mid-air before capsizing and crashing.

The cause of the accidents remains unknown.

No smoking gun, but here’s some issues:

  • Arming checks disabled. Fix ARMING_CHECK,1 and if it won’t arm then figure out why and solve it.
  • Old firmware. Update to the latest.
  • Front motors are working significantly harder than the back motors. C of G is too far forward for the quad mode.
  • PID values for quadplane look way too high. Reset to the defaults and try again. This was probably the biggest reason for the loss of control.
