I have a drone that crashed last night, free falling from 48m. The flight log in this post will show two autonomous flights, one to about 30m and the second to about 48m. Each flight received nearly identical compiled auto missions from a companion computer, the main difference being the goal height to hover AGL before landing. The first flight went exactly as planned, the second flight, at the moment the auto mission switched to MAV_CMD_NAV_RETURN_TO_LAUNCH, some failure occurred and the drone fell from the sky. I can see voltage drop to the ESCs but no obvious cause or command to do so. This drone has flown many successful auto missions over the last few days but is still a relatively new build. Any help evaluating the logs for cause of power loss would be appreciated!
I’d say power failure to the ESCs. The controller is sending the commands for full power but the current flow just dropped to zero before and stayed there. I’d look at whatever you’ve set up for power distribution because it seems to be impacting all the motors given that the current flow is basically nothing.
