Uneven output on CCW and CW motors (no props, on the bench)

I don’t want the tether but its required because the prof im working on this for wants me to have it :confused:

Also could you please explain why I need to disable otype and mask?? Is it just to prevent dshot from being a possible issue? I will do it, but I want to understand why if you dont mind me asking.

Add that to more clueless things that we have heard on the forum as directives from Profs. Be sure to tell him/her that it crashed after running out of tether. Would you tether your car to a tree to test the cruise control?

It will not prevent Dshot by disabling those parameters. You already have it enabled by the MOT_PWM_TYPE, SERVO_BLH_AUTO and SERVO_DSHOT_ESC parameters.

LOL

Ahh ok. Will try it for next flight then for sure.

Note that this will not make a noticeable difference in anything but they are redundant parameters for you. Their purpose is to configure motors and servo’s with respect to different output timing groups.

ahhh ok thanks for letting me know

If asking for open source help isn’t against university policy, point your professor to this topic. The respondents here are well educated (at least a couple with beyond graduate education in unmanned systems and/or aerospace fields), and all are well versed in new vehicle configuration under ArduPilot.

I will be sure to let him know :slight_smile:

@dkemxr

Got another video and log for yall…

Heres the .bin

Heres the video

I’m thinking this is something caused by a yaw imbalance? So the solution to that would be creating some type of jig thatll help keep the arms level in assembly. This is also still with the old battery (amazon is taking forever :sob: ). Also my friend suggested it might be an RC trx issue as well, so I am going to try to borrow their rc setup from them to see if that changes anything.

Get the RC System working and ditch the tether and perhaps we can help.

A “yaw imbalance” typically causes a difference in the CW and CCW motors, it doesn’t spin the craft around. It could be your janky gamepad or whatever you have and/or influence from the tether.

gotcha will do. I should be getting the rc stuff tmrw
