In QGC, when I tried to do Firmware Setup then plug the device via USB, absolutely nothing happens. Possible because no connection is automatically initiated when I make the connection?
Note: through USB, the board connects manually by going to “Application Settings”->“Comm Links”->(Select Connection)->“Connect” or if I setup “Automatically Connect on Start” and start QGC while the board is connected, however if I plug/unplug the board via USB while QGC is running there is no auto-disconnect / reconnect. I remember in some prior versions&configs, auto-reconnect was working and so was the Firmware upgrade. Please advise.
Thank you
QGC: v.4.2.0
OS: Ubuntu 18.04
Board: “Arduino Mega 2560”, VendorID: 9025, ProductId:16 (reported in QGC as ArduCopter V3.1.5)
If you play with ancient hardware you have to use the software from the same time period.
Use QGC or Mission Planner which is also at least five years old.
QGC never supported that hardware.

Thank you. I tinkered with an old controller a few years back and thought I will give another shoot (I just saw APM 2.8 is not supported anymore). My bad, I saw it connect and I assume is supported - maybe I am asking too much, but if a board is not supported why not give a clear message?
I also have a Pixhawk 2.4.8 that seems to connect I have hard time getting it to work… is there a place I can find the latest compatibility info?
Thanks again
The firmware download page of Ardupilot lists all supported boards.
