Can I tune plane(54Kg) with SITL?

Yes it is possible. How well the sim translates to real world is dependent on the efficacy of the model. My thesis is primarily about this. The gist was X-Plane was ok, but lacked some basics that don’t make it suitable for certain characteristics. Since working on this we’ve built our own flight sim that uses CFD data and gotten much better results.

Thanks alot, but I used FlightGear with JSBSim as AP.

I have not evaluated JSBSim so I can’t say. I know they have spent a lot of time getting corrections and estimations for aerodynamics to work for a majority of aircraft. I just haven’t analyzed how their sim works though. Should be much easier to do than X-Plane was because it is open source.
