Tuning a tailsitter without control surfaces

Hi community,

I’m looking for recommendations for tuning a tailsitter without control surfaces.

The guide at Tailsitter VTOL Tuning — Plane documentation is great but it assumes the presence of control surfaces. Without control surfaces, the FF terms should not dominate the tuning.

Would it be best to just follow instructions for tuning a multicopter? Perhaps I can perform a QuikTune in our lab’s flight arena, set up the noise notch filtering, and then do a QAUTOTUNE outdoors?

Thank you!

Just follow the quadcopter tune it worked for me when I did our aircraft. 2 meter tailsitter works great now. It has 4 motors so it’s basically the same thing
