Trying to get old Gaui Crane 2 to work

i have been trying to get my old Gaui Crane2 to work with the Pixhawk. i am new to it, and can’t get any action on the aux 1 and 2 (RC9 and RC10) pins. i can power the servos through the FrSky XR8 receiver directly, but no matter how i configure the Pixhawk through MissionPlanner i don’t get anything happening on the aux outs. (i have set the RC9 and RC10 configs in the Full Parameters, used the “Initial Setup” for gimbals, googled any search combo i could come up with etc)

the setup is powered through one set of 2x2200mh 3s batteries, and as i said, it will happily drive the servos for the gimbal through the receiver, which in turn is powered through the Pixhawk RSSI and it from the 3DR powermanager cable.

any hints are appreciated.

oh, and i forgot to mention, i am powering the servo-rail from the distribution board and am measuring a solid 5v on the power pin. the servos also position themselves to center when the pixhawk finishes booting.

Hi flexneck,

Please check the MNT_MODE parameter value.

RogelioN, thanks to your hint i finally did figure out that MNT_MODE parameter needs to be set to “3” for the gimbal to be in “stabilize to earth” mode. however, if there is any clear documentation on the various parameter values for MNT_MODE, i have been unable to find it so far - might be worth adding an explicit list of possible values and according functions to the gimbal-control wiki page.
