Timestamp domain

I have Intel Aero RTF that runs Ardupilot. I was wondering about the time stamp coming with the MAVLINK messages. Does it relate to the timestamp that I can get by retrieving the time since the system was boot on my program?

In other words, are the clocks that the Ardupiolt use and the one that my program use which is installed on the companion board the same? or at least synchronized?

No the time is not synchronised by default, the timestamp relates to time since boot until the GPS is up. As soon as GPS lock is achieved the time switches to GPS. Also there is a mavlink message you can use called “TIMESYNC” for synchronising the clock on your end with Ardupilot’s.
