Thinking about getting a USX51 FC for my wife’s drone project

Hi everyone,

I’m not really into drones myself — my wife is the one who actually knows how to build and fly them. She’s currently preparing for a drone test for TEKNOFEST, and I wanted to find something that might help her project.

A few days ago, I saw an ad on Facebook for this flight controller called the USX51 Computing Power Flight Controller. It looked interesting, so I started digging around. I found a wiki page with some specs, but not much else. It seems to be made in China, and I couldn’t find any user feedback or setup guides.https://wiki.utmsys.org/en/UTMSYS/

I was wondering if anyone here has ever heard of or tried this board?

Do you think it could be useful for an ArduPilot or PX4-based build?

If it turns out to be a good one, I might buy it as a small surprise gift for my wife — she doesn’t know I’m doing this yet

A friend told me this community is one of the best places to ask, so… here I am.

Any insights or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

It has a Pixhawk 6X under the hood, so it’d be compatible with ArduPilot. Depending on your family’s technical skillset, the additional compute module may be overkill. You didn’t really describe the use case, so it’s hard to know whether you need the onboard companion computer or not.

I’m not familiar with the product or the company, so I can’t give you a recommendation beyond what I see on the spec sheet.
