TECS Climb Profile Overshoots After Takeoff

In AUTO mode after takeoff I have Ardupilot climb to 15m before transitioning to standard waypoint navigation. However when it does this TECS also builds a climb profile which seems to assume a starting vertical speed of 0. Because the aircraft is already climbing, this results in an immediate overshoot and aggressive throttle/pitch down to re-converge with the profile. There’s no good reason to do this maneuver, I’d obviously prefer an actually smooth climb.

Any recommendations on how to correct this behavior? Setting glide_slope_min = 0 seems like the brute force method isn’t great considering how it would affect other climbs/descents.
