Tattu 4.0 18S Smart Battery is detected on Dronecan but is not powering on inspite of trying different batt_options(MPPT)

Hello Team,

Unlike Tattu-3.0 18S battery, Tattu 4.0 battery is being detected on Dronecan

but to our dismay it is not powering on.

What dronecan message should be sent to the battery to keep it powered on.

Tried various combination of the below options but still no luck.

for instance “MPPT Powered on when armed”, and when the vehicle was actually armed battery it didn’t power on

tried “MPPT Powered on at boot”. this option too didn’t work.

Have attached dronecan logs (captured from can_logger.lua script).

Hi This is Elsa from Tattu Battery. For the 4.0 series, we have introduced a battery detection design. You have to short the pin1 and pin2 for the drone side first. So you can read communication from the battery side. Please try it, any further problems, feel free to contact elsa@gensace.com.

Hi Elsa,

Ok. this seems to be a new behavior in Tattu 4.0. the other two pins (barring CAN-H and CAN-L) has a voltage difference of around 4.5V giving me the impression it is to power 5V periperhals. is it ok shorting. Does it need any resistance in between before being shorted?

Open short-circuit with pull up will look like that.

Alright. if it safe then let me short and update if the battery powers on. Thank you

Batteries are getting powered on (without getting switched off automatically) after shorting the pins as suggested.

Thanks @Elsa_Deng @LupusTheCanine @Auki
