Tarot Gimbal causes swimming videos

Mounted Tarot gimbal on IRIS and tried it out. The first time video was just fine.
Now when I use it the camera is shifting up and down a little causing the videos to look like there swimming.
Have no instructions for the gimbal so don’t know if this can be corrected.

Aye aye… not another thread on this…

Watch this video and see if you can fine-tune it so it stops doing this…

So much for ready to fly. Didn’t know were to get the software from.
Good thing I had a RAR file opener.
looks like the current version is 1.4
Adjusted my Gain from 90 down to 75 and that smoothed things out.
Will try that.
I guess I should be glade that the USB adapter came with the gimbal.

Glad to hear you are making progress. Keep testing and report back after you do some real world testing up in the air. I think because it is from Tarot (and not made by 3DR themselves) they just resell it and probably assumed it was ready to go. They may not even have noticed this in their own testing (giving them the benefit of the doubt). Tarot probably didn’t notice because they may not be powering/controlling it via Pixhawk and perhaps it wasn’t a problem in their lab.

I am finding some things that are not as they should be, but I have to tell you, because of all this I have learned so much than I would if everything was perfect. Not that you wish that, but it caused me to research and now I feel so much more comfortable using my Iris and Mission planner. Good luck on yours.

Enjoy

Very true!! Ditto!
