I have a hand-launched plane that flies normally, and can run AUTO missions. Today, I wanted to try the TAKEOFF mode for the first time. I had the plane armed and in TAKEOFF mode, but I noticed that - even though I was holding the plane level, the elevator was pointing DOWN. This caused me to abort my intent to fly the plane. When I sit the plane on the ground and hold it level and arm it in FBWA MODE, the elevator stays level, but if I switch to TAKEOFF mode, the elevator angles down. I do not have an airspeed indicator. TKOFF_GND_PITCH = 5, TKOFF_LVL_PITCH = 15
At this time, I do not need to respond to a throw, I can just put it in TKOFF MODE and throw it. But why would it (appear to) drive itself DOWN?
you haven’t mentioned a firmware version, and have not provided a log. Please set LOG_DISARMED=1 and provide a log.
I am not near the plane, so I cannot send a log yet, but my FW version is 4.5.7
And I should also mention that the plane is a V-Tail.
Probably because you have twice reversed elevator. Is the stabilization acting correctly in FBWA?
Is attitude indicator in Mission Planner responding correctly to plane attitude?
Thanks! That was the key. I had the FC reversed. Problem solved.
