SpeedyBee F405 WING MINI - Multiplex SRXL Connector?

Hello
I have a SpeedyBee F405 WING MINI
Where does a multiplex SRXL bus connect to this board?

  • S-Bus connection - SRXL BUS is not automatically recognized!
Can anyone give me information about this?
    Thanks!

SB F405 wing Ardupilot

Seems there is some magic involved in setting up the receiver as well.

https://ardupilot.org/plane/docs/common-srxl-receivers.html

The SBUS pin should be correct. Be sure to use the WING Firmware, not the MINI.

Thanks for the support!

Multiplex RX - SRXL Bus - Bus signals ok
SRXL Bus connected on S-Bus connector
(no GPS, no Compass connected)

Missions Planer 1.3.82 (is running - OK):

  • ARDU-Firmware SpeedyBee_F4v4 loaded - OK
    (arduplane_with_bl.hex)
  • SETUP - Basis Hardware - calibration - Ok
  • SETUP - Basis Hardware - Compass calibration required?
  • SETUP - Basis Hardware - calibration RC-control
    - TX calibration - only Shows
    • Spektrum binden (? cannot be changed)
      Bind DSM2 Bind DSMX Bind DSM8 (?)
      Transmitter calibration selected
      Result: no Signals “detected”

@werhof maybe the WIKI can help.
SRXL Protocol is not SBus Protocol

…that’s clear!

Multiplex SRXL version 1 and version 2 Receivers

Connecting the Receiver
For all protocols above, ArduPilot auto-detects the protocol of the RC receiver System
where / connector?

RC Input
DSM/SRXL connects to the RX1 pin, // F405 win mini has no RX1 pin!

I just wanted to know if I can connect the SRXL bus to the F405 wing mini?
Has anyone operated the SpeedyBee F405 wing mini with a Multiplex remote control?

You can check if it works via UART1, connect like described for ELRS / Crossfire
https://ardupilot.org/plane/docs/common-speedybeef405wing.html#wiring-diagram

Set Serial1 to RCIN
https://ardupilot.org/plane/docs/common-flight-controller-wiring.html#rc-input

EDIT:
It just crossed my mind.
Are you using USB power only or do you have a battery connected?
The Vx Pads in front don’t have power without Battery.
The 4V5 Pin next to UART1 gets power from USB.

Yes, you are right. The SpeedyBee 405 wing mini is so nice small and compact that the Rx1 and Tx1 are only labeled .R1 and T1
Also is shown in the documentation SpeedyBee F405 WING MINI Fixed Wing Flight Controller - Speedy Bee

The 4v5 pin has 4.5V and the front pins are supplied with 5 volts via the SRXL bus.

Can you provide your PARAM-file
How you measured signal on RX1, just by the FC or through some additional measurement equipment (Oscilloscope). How you connected your RC RX to the FC pin by pin. Which Multiplex receiver are you using, an which SRXL Protocol, 1 or 2?

I measured the signal on RX1 with the oscilloscope.
Multiplex receiver I use an RX-7-DR, set to SRXL V2.

How you connected your RC RX to the FC pin by pin.
Do you mean all connections on the lower bar (I don’t have them, can I)

sorry, I’m not yet very familiar with ARDUPILOT and Mission Planner.
which parameters are needed

Parameter.param (19.0 KB)

I’m not familiar with this protocol have junked Spectrum many years ago but from the docs.
It’s not SRXL2 right? Assuming not
DSM/SRXL connects to the RX1 pin
SERIAL1_PROTOCOL,23
SERIAL2_PROTOCOL,0 (can’t have 2 uarts as RC input)

Hallo Werner,
I wanted to know which pin of the receiver you connected to which pin of the SpeedyBee.
I just tried to find the correct manual of the receiver but failed. What is the correct ArtNo of the receiver?
But ok, at least our receiver has three pins (+ or Vcc; - or GND; S signal) I want to know to which contacts of the SpeedyBee you connected to which of these pins?
Your PARAM file shows RCIN Protocol on Serial 2 and DJI FPV Protocol on Serial 1
I just tried to simulate what happens if my FC is not detecting the receiver. It shows in the
SETUP->Basis Harware->Kalibrierung RC-Steuerung no green bars for Pitch Roll and Yaw as on your picture. Only if I connect the receiver and switch the transmitter on I can see these greenbars. So I think your SpeedyBee is getting the receiver information alread and ou now can start the “Sender kalibrieren” process. The fields “Spektrum binden” are not relevant

Hallo Dave
I have a Multiplex receiver with SRXL V2 bus,
not a Spektrum with SRXL2 bus

I read that if you plug in the SRXL bus (wherever it is),
the software always automatically recognizes the protocol!
I am now looking for the place (plug in) where this is the case

Hello Juergen

You can be sure, that the correct SRXL (V2) bus signal goes from the Rx to the F405

Multiplex RX-7-DR - #5 5811, tested with Oscilloscope and MULTIPLEX Launcher (BUS)

Connection on F405:

RX1 - SRXL bus signal

4V5 Connector has 4,5 Volt

GND – GND

Note: all GNDs on the F405 are connected to each other

When I start the calibration, the message Note Channels not connected … always appears and the bars do not move (of course)

I have now tested with other RX, a Multiplex RX-9-DR and with a bus setting SRXL V1.
The same result, no bar moves!

I certainly don’t want to doubt you, but I can only follow the explanation you actually wrote. I’m not sitting next to you in your workshop. Unfortunately, this explanation is sometimes very brief.
If, as you wrote, you have connected the receiver to pin RX1 (labeled R1) on the SpeedyBee, then you also have to set Serial1 in the parameters as RCIN (value 23). But you have selected something else and instead Serial2 is still set as RCIN.
So first of all, set the parameters accordingly as Dave wrote above.

Dave, Juergen
many thanks for your support, it works now with SERIAL1 (RX1).

SRXL bus to RX1 (R1)
SRXL GND to GND
Parameter: SERIAL1_PROTOCOL,23
Parameter: SERIAL2_PROTOCOL,0
MP_Klb-RC-Steuerung_ok

all this on the topic - SRXL bus is automatically recognized!
