Hi all,
I would like to connect my H12 pro with a non rtsp camera. I thought to connect them with a R12, the non pro version receiver, that support CVBS. Search on the internet I found out that the H12 pro doesn’t support the R12 but only R12 pro. This seems crazy to me, they really made such a closed system? Or anybody already tried to use H12 pro with R12 (or R10) and tested the compatibility?
I have the H12pro and Skydroid Techinal help confirmed that only the R12pro works with the H12Pro. Have you found any other cameras that work with the R12Pro ? I am looking around for a zoom camera - not too expensive.
Hi Aluna,
That’s a bad news! It would be great if somebody phisycally test it to see if technical support said the truth.
About H12 pro, do you like it? Which app/ground station do you use? And which cam?
About the zoom camera, I bought a generic rtsp camera but without zoom. I want to test it before buy a bit more expensive zoom camera. I will test it as soon as I can, cause actually I’m building two drones from zero.
Yesterday, I was looking agin for another camera for the H12Pro. To be ohnest I am not really sure what specification to look for. I might try reverse engineering the C10 which I have by connecting directly to my pc ethernet. I came across something that stated the R12 cameras are not compatible with the R12Pro, so I tend to believe Skydroid. Unfortunately, I cannot find the article anymore. I would like to know what rtsp camera you have purchased.
As a whole, I am pleased with the H12Pro, at least it appears to satisfy my needs so far and I am a biginner so I have nothing to compare it with !. I am not interested in FPV so the screen is very good. My biggest critisim is the lack of techical support both from skydroid and from available documentation. The technical help at Skydroid try hard, but it appears I can’t get further than a secretary who most of the time does not understand my questions. They are very sparing with the truth, for example they were very reluctant to admit the Android system on the H12Pro cannot be upadted so you have to use either an older version of QGC or Skydroid’d own FlyGC.
Nevertheless, I am using QGC with PX4 and it appears to be pritty good. One of the draw backs, is I cannot get QGC/PX4 to trigger the camera (C10) automatically when in mission-survey mode, that is why I am looking for an alternative camera. I believe Ardupilot has better camera controls, but every time I try Ardupilot I end up in crashing, it has too many parameters to play around with !
I have built two quad drones from scratch and without previous experience and both fly very well . I am now thinking about making something bigger, since I have a few spare motors, either a hexacopter or quad with 8 motors (4x2). The learning curve is very steep for me.
