SIYI UniRC (More Frequencies, More Bandwidth, More Channels, More Open, More Advanced)

It was “Remote control SDK connection method” should have set it to “UART” as well Datalink1 same “UART” then worked ! (many thanks to SIYI Support ! they sent me an video with this steps)

Now I have 2.0.3 RC and 2.0.2 AU (I had 1.3.1 RC and 1.2.0 AU)

Regarding the firmware upgrade failure of image transmission, please check:

  1. Check if the antenna is installed correctly.
  2. Try removing the device connected to the Air Unit.

Please go to the official website as soon as possible to obtain the new firmware and update your UniRC 7 package. thank you.

@SIYI
Are you providing answer to this question?

thank you ! … yeah, already did that :smiley:

How do users get the FPV firmware to upgrade successfully?

On mine, went straightforward. The only thing that didn’t work was last message with “firmware upgrade successful” - I recieved no message. But after 10 mins or so, rebooted the air unit and all was good.

How is your hardware setup?
Do you still remember what was the previous FPV firmware version?
May I know how you verify that the upgrade is successful?

Attention should be paid when upgrading FPV firmware:

  1. Establish a connection between RC and Air Unit.
  2. Please connect all antennas for RC and Air Unit during the upgrade.
  3. Please place the device in an environment with minimal interference.
  4. Please remove any other devices connected to the RC and Air Unit before attempting again.
  5. Please note that the Air Unit needs to maintain a power supply of 12V to 76V. Keep RC with sufficient battery capacity.

The FPV firmware version before the upgrade was v1.0.3. The new FPV firmware is v1.2.2.

@SIYI
The FPV firmware version before the upgrade was v1.0.3.
J>> Yes. It is v1.0.3
Still fail to upgrade the FPV firmware.

We consider buying some SIYI radios for image transmission. We would like to transmit image files via ethernet over long distance (20km) at sea. If possible we would like to avoid having the ground station of the transmission systems integrated in a tablet. We would prefer low frequencies (2.4GHz) as well to reduce the loss over long distances.

Could someone recommend a version of the SIYI radios for our usecase?

Does the UniRC 7 (normal version) have ethernet? Is there a groundstation version of the UniRC 7 that is not integrated in a tablet/remote?

Thanks for your help.

Is this for use on vessels at sea or for maritime drones?
For maritime drones, the UniRC 7 Pro could be considered, as it can be restricted to a single 2.4GHz frequency band. For maritime vessels, I believe it would be challenging to exceed 3km range.
The standard UniRC 7 model lacks an Ethernet port; only the Pro version features one.
Should a video transmission system be required, both models incorporate Android systems.

We intend to use the system in a maritime environment, yes. The GC will be on a vessel.

Why do you think exceeding 3km is a challenge?

We only would like to transmit images. No videos for now.

My understanding is that it involves transmitting video streams. Ground-to-ground transmission faces numerous interference factors, so achieving a range of 3km would be an outstanding accomplishment.

Hello, did you managed to update FPV firmware ? .. I have the exactly same problem with one of my air unit :frowning: .

Yes, I did. I cannot fully recall. Siyi did a WhatsApp video support and settled it. Today, I upgraded from 1.2.2 to 1.2.4 following the Firmware Upgrade Operation Process.pdf in the package; it is okay. The manual is a bit misleading or unclear.

You’d better have the Android UniGCS upgrade to the latest version first.

RC fw 2.0.4 -> 2.0.8
AU fw 2.0.3 -> 2.0.5
Android UniGCS 1.1.8 -> 2.0.4

Do you use QGC with yours?
If so have you noticed any video issues?

I do not use QGC in my case. I use MP and UniGCS. But I have to comment for the way Siyi supports the 3rd party GCS in one device is not elegant. UniGGS has to run in the background and quite slow, and unstable.

I do not have a compatible Siyi camera system; I did not conduct that test.

We use unirc7 pro (all updated) and with the latest stable version of qgroundcontrol, video is slow and stuttering (using rtmp). Video is fine in unigcs

Hello. Have you resolved the FPV firmware upgrade issue for the UniRC 7?
